Before becoming a media trainer, Sonia spent a decade as a news and current affairs journalist with the ABC. This included roles as a guest presenter of several programs, NSW state parliamentary reporter, Chief of Staff and then Executive Producer of ABC Radio News in Sydney. She was also a freelance correspondent based in Prague,. Sonia became a media trainer in the 1990s, and was one of the developers of the Media Skills crisis methodology. She has also spent nearly three years as Director of Communication for a major NGO. In that capacity, Sonia conducted internal media training, including at the international head office in The Netherlands. Sonia is a graduate of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School, a Class One accredited trainer and a member of and trainer for the Public Relations Institute of Australia (NSW). |
